Ayatullah Syed Ali Naqi Naqvi

He was born in Lucknow, India. His first trip to Iraq with his family was in 1327 AH. He learned "In the Name of God" at the age of seven in Najaf, Iraq, and received his early religious education from Sayyid Muhammad Ali Shah Shah Abdul Zamani. After receiving the ijtihad of his father, Seyyed Abolhassan, while Seyyed Ali was 9 years old, he left for Lucknow with his family. He received permission for ijtihad at the age of 27 from Mohammad Hossein Naeini. His second trip to Najaf for religious education was in 1927 (1345 AH). He was born in Lucknow, India. He taught Arabic and Persian at Lucknow University in India. He later joined the Shiite Theology Department at the Aligarh Islamic University, where he was for a time the dean of the university, as well as the dean of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies.
