About the Ulama of India Project

Mahdi Mission, under the leadership of Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Maulana Safdar Hussain Yaqubi, began its cultural and religious services in 1990, serving Shia communities and Urdu-speaking audiences worldwide.

One of its major initiatives is the “Ulama of India” Project, launched in 2019 through the vision and initiative of Hujjat al-Islam Maulana Ali Yaqubi. The project was established to preserve the legacy of the scholars of India and introduce their lives and contributions to the younger generation. Since its inception, he has led its development and worked toward building a lasting digital archive.

The project has collected and documented a significant collection of photographs, biographical information, documents, and historical materials, along with digital paintings, graphic designs, introductory videos, documentaries, and historical sites associated with the scholars.

The ultimate goal is to preserve the scholarly, historical, and visual heritage of the Ulama of India and make it accessible to students, researchers, and future generations, with the support of Mahdi Mission.
